What Is Buteyko Breathing?
Developed by Ukrainian physician Dr. Konstantin Buteyko for the treatment of Asthma and other breathing disorders. While working, he noticed the sicker the patients were , the harder and faster they breathed. This made him question whether improper breathing was the cause of the illness or a symptom of the illness. This method of breathing focuses on the breath by slowing it down and slightly reducing air intake, helping to optimize the body's oxygen use and ultimately improve overall health.
Rather than breathing more, Buteyko teaches you to breathe efficiently, allowing your body to better utilize oxygen while reducing overbreathing and unnecessary respiratory effort.
Benefits include:
✔ Encourages nasal breathing
✔ Supports diaphragm function
✔ Improves oxygen delivery
✔ Promotes calmer, healthier breathing
A Evidence Based Breathing Method

How Hidden Breathing Habits Affect Us
Many people unknowingly develop dysfunctional breathing habits caused by stress, illness, allergies, mouth breathing, poor posture, or chronic congestion.
Over time these habits can contribute to:
• Fatigue
• Poor sleep
• Anxiety
• Snoring
• Mouth breathing
• Difficulty concentrating
• Exercise intolerance
Buteyko Breathing helps retrain these patterns so your body can return to breathing the way it was designed.
Nasal Breathing
Your nose naturally filters, humidifies, and warms the air while helping regulate oxygen and carbon dioxide levels for healthier breathing.
The Power of Proper Breathing

Reduced Overbreathing
Learning to breathe slower and lighter helps reduce unnecessary breathing effort, improving efficiency and supporting your body's natural balance.

Improved Oxygenation
Proper breathing increases oxygen delivery throughout the body, helping support energy, focus, recovery, and overall well-being.
