Virtual Care Policy

Effective Date: August 24, 2026

Eat Sleep Breathe Myo provides certain services remotely through video conferencing and other electronic technologies.

What Virtual Care Involves

Virtual care may include consultations, assessments, therapy sessions, education, progress reviews, and other appropriate services delivered remotely.

Client Location

Before or at the beginning of a virtual appointment, clients may be required to confirm their current physical location.

Clients must inform ESB Myo if they will be outside their normal province, state, or country when an appointment takes place.

We may be unable to provide the appointment depending upon the client's location and applicable professional or legal requirements.

Technology

Clients are responsible for having:

  • A suitable internet connection

  • A compatible device

  • Working camera and microphone when required

  • An appropriate environment for participation

Privacy

Clients should participate from a private, quiet environment whenever reasonably possible.

Headphones may be used for additional privacy.

Virtual healthcare can create additional privacy and security risks because information travels through electronic technologies and communication infrastructure.

Recording

Clients may not record, photograph, screen-record, livestream, or otherwise capture a session without prior authorization.

ESB Myo will not record a session without obtaining appropriate consent where required.

Limitations

Remote assessment has limitations.

Certain observations, examinations, measurements, or interventions may require in-person evaluation.

If virtual care is not appropriate, we may recommend an in-person assessment or referral to another qualified healthcare professional.

Minors

A parent or guardian may be required to participate in or be available during virtual services involving a minor.

Emergencies

Virtual services provided by ESB Myo are not emergency services.

A client experiencing a medical emergency should immediately seek appropriate local emergency assistance.

Informed Consent

Participation in virtual care may require separate informed consent.

Clients may ask questions about the risks, benefits, limitations, privacy considerations, and alternatives before participating.
